Cascade Pathways Improvements

This fall, improvements to certain pathways in Cascade were improved, including:
  • The pathway between Wycliff Dr. and Buttrick Ave
  • The pathway along Buttrick Ave. between 30th St. and 36th St.
  • The pathway along Cascade Rd. between Leyton Dr. and 36th St.
This is part of the pathway improvements the Cascade Township Board approved to address conditions of the oldest segments of the pathway network.

Cascade Recreation Park - Municipal Water Main Connection

Given the unpredictable nature of groundwater movement and the presence of known contamination near Cascade Recreation Park, Park, connection to the municipal water system will provide an added measure of long-term reliability and public health protection.

The project includes approximately 1,020 lineal feet of 6-inch-diameter water main and 2,190 lineal feet of 2-inch-diameter water service line. Work includes connections to the existing plumbing serving the restroom, drinking fountains, and pavilion hose spigot; a connection to the existing plumbing at the maintenance building; irrigation system plumbing; and an additional service line to allow for future improvements in the southeast portion of the park. All existing water-use points currently supplied by on-site wells will be converted to municipal water service.

This project is eligible for funding through the Kent County PFAS agreement. There is sufficient budget in Fund 246 to accommodate this project.

Construction began November 2, 2026 and is expected to be complete November 13, 2026.
