Share Your Feedback on the Draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Our Parks Committee needs your help as it works to finalize the Township’s parks and recreation master plan.
Residents are invited to review the draft plan and provide feedback on it before the Parks Committee finalizes it for Township Board consideration.
During its Oct. 26 meeting, the Board approved a 30-day public comment period and a Dec. 14 public hearing on the master plan. The Township will accept community feedback on the draft plan until Friday, Nov. 25.  The draft plan can also be viewed at any time either with the pdf below or by using the following link: Draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2023-2027 - Link or visiting Cascade Township Hall, 5920 Tahoe Drive SE, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Township will hold an open house 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Wisner Center, 2870 Jacksmith Ave. SE, for residents to review the draft plan and two concepts for the new Wycliffe Trailhead Park as well as provide feedback to Township staff and members of the Parks Committee. More information about the open house is available on our Facebook page.
The Board is scheduled to vote on the plan’s adoption during its Dec. 14 meeting.
A year ago, Township staff and the Parks Committee started creating the five-year plan to help guide development of the township’s parks, recreation and open space as well as provide eligibility for potential grants through the Department of Natural Resources. This draft plan is the result of a 2021 community engagement survey that received nearly 1,000 responses.
