Zoning Ordinance Amendments

Cascade Charter Township's current zoning ordinance was established in 1974 at a time when the community was looking to attract big box stores, car dealerships and large-scale industrial and commercial growth. Based on input we received when adopting the Township's Master Plan in 2024, we learned residents currently prioritize the protection of the rural and residential parts of Cascade. In order to preserve Cascade's unique character and enhance the quality of residents' lives, an updated zoning ordinance has been drafted.

We continue to seek public feedback and input and want to hear from you. Please fill out the brief questionnaire below. All comments will be shared with the Township for consideration.

Please plan on attending one of four Open Houses to get more information and ask questions around the proposed Zoning Ordinance:

Draft Zoning Ordinance - November 6, 2025 (Latest Version)

Changes to the draft Zoning Ordinance include changes to the Village, mixed use overlays, accessory structure and agricultural animal regulations, tree preservation tools, lighting standards and streamlining review procedures. For a full list of proposed changes, click on the document below.
