Friendship Park – Cascade's eighth park – is beginning to take shape. On Friday, Nov. 17, a small crowd gathered on library grounds to official kick off this long-anticipated project. 

This project is moving forward thanks to a $450,000 Revitalization and Placemaking Program (RAP) grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. 

To celebrate completion of the Fire Station 1 project, the township is inviting the public to a grand opening and open house from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, exactly one year after the official groundbreaking.

This celebration provides residents a unique chance to explore the nearly 20,000-square-foot structure.
 

Each week volunteers are invited to join Cascade Parks & Recreation Volunteer Coordinator Jeanine Heibel from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at a different township park or other public space for a variety of land stewardship projects.
