Cascade Township Invites West Michigan Community to Annual Metro Cruise Warm-Up

All-ages Event Aug. 25 Will Feature Classic Cars, Live Music, Food Trucks and Auction.
Cascade Township, Michigan, Aug. 11, 2022 – Cascade Township is inviting classic car lovers and community members of all ages to its annual Cascade Metro Cruise Warm-Up on Thursday, Aug. 25.
 
The Cascade Metro Cruise Warm-Up will take place 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Fowling Warehouse Grand Rapids, 6797 Cascade Road SE. The all-ages event will feature classic cars, an auction to support the Kent County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and activities that will entertain car enthusiasts and children alike, including face painting, balloon sculpting and music by The Soul Syndicate.
Attendees can also fuel up on a variety of dinner meals, soft drinks and desserts from local food trucks, including Bigfoot Burgers, Cooking for Comfort, Mexcellente, Ohana Hawaiian Ice and Thornapple Brewing Co. While event admission, activities and music are free, there are costs for the food.
“For the past 12 years, we have been proud to help jump-start the 28th Street Metro Cruise and provide a gathering place for members of the West Michigan community to have fun and admire some unique vehicles,” Cascade Township Economic Development Director Sandra Korhorn said. “With tasty food, lively music and lines of classic cars, this event has something for everyone to enjoy.”
 
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office will auction off an opportunity to participate in a training session with its K-9 Unit. The K-9 Unit will also conduct a live demonstration and answer questions at 7 p.m.
 
The Cascade Metro Cruise Warm-Up leads into the 28th Street Metro Cruise, West Michigan’s premiere auto cruise and car show set for Aug. 26-27.
