Cascade Township Spreads Cheer During Holidays Through Angel Tree and Toys for Tots Programs
Cascade Township, Michigan, Nov. 14, 2019 – Cascade Township is once again giving back this holiday season by participating in the Angel Tree and Toys for Tots programs to collect gifts for children in need.
From now until Dec. 17, individuals have the opportunity to spread holiday cheer by donating unwrapped gifts for children.
To participate in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, individuals can select a tag from a tree located in Township Hall, 2865 Thornhills Ave. SE, that includes the first name, age and gender of a child in need of a gift. Residents are encouraged to take as many tags as they like and should bring the unwrapped gifts and tags back to the Angel Tree once purchased.
“Receiving gifts during the holidays is a very special moment that every child doesn’t always get to experience,” said Township Manager Ben Swayze. “Through programs like Angel Tree and Toys for Tots, we can help spread holiday cheer to ensure presents are placed under each child’s tree this year.”
The Marine Toys for Tots program encourages people to donate new, unwrapped toys. Unlike Angel Tree, Toys for Tots does not require individuals to purchase gifts for a specific child. The Cascade Fire Department Fire Station 1 at 2865 Thornhills Ave. SE will be the collection point for the Toys for Tots program.
Toys for both programs can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
