Interior Renovations

A 2018 inventory of the KDL – Cascade Township Branch’s needs showed the interior has inadequate and outdated lighting, damage to external doors, worn carpeting and paint, roof damage and worn furnishings. After collecting community input, a list of proposed interior renovations was created to ensure the library could continue to serve the community’s needs now and well into the future. Funding for this project would come from the Township’s current library millage fund.

Outdoor Gardens and Activity Space

For a number of years, Friends of the Cascade Library has collected money for an outdoor activity space so the KDL – Cascade Township Branch can continue to expand outdoor offerings. Working with local firm Native Edge, Friends of the Cascade Library created initial designs for the outdoor space.

Once community feedback on these proposed designs is received, the Township Board will consider authorizing the use of the land for this project. The Friends of the Cascade Library board voted to fund the first phase of the project. It’s anticipated the remaining two phases will be funded from private sources and donations.

Your thoughts and comments are valuable in helping to guide these projects. Thank you for your feedback.
