4th of July Celebration - Cancelled

| Posted in: Latest News
After considering direction from our local, state and national health experts, we have decided to host our annual July Fourth fireworks show with Ada but cancel this year’s daytime festivities. Although it saddens us that we won’t be able to gather safely for a parade, carnival and our other activities, we feel confident we can help stage a fireworks show that will allow families to properly distance so they can celebrate our nation’s independence safely.

Why are we making this decision now? Know that months of advance planning and coordination by Township staff and area partners needs to be done to create a successful event that adheres to current MDHHS guidelines. At this time, we don’t know what these guidelines will look like on July 4. It’s important to do everything we can to protect the health of our residents, employees, businesses and first responders as we continue to support statewide efforts to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

We have been strong as a community during the pandemic – and we thank everyone for their continued support of one another. We are considering a fall event that will allow us to all gather again, should regulations relax to the point where it is safe for our community to do so.

We look forward to seeing community members, friends and families at this year’s fireworks show on July 3. Please watch our website and Facebook page for updates on events in July and this fall.
